Get Out There

& Do Something!

Another hike! We made it to the top of Mt. Spokane!

About Us…

We are Dan & Sarah, and we have been making things for years! To borrow from Mythbusters, "...with over 50 years of combined experience..." in making things, we like new challenges. Together we share our broad range of experiences with you, from the untamed forest of the Pacific Northwest United States.

ABOUT DAN …

“My background is in construction, construction safety, plumbing, and woodworking. With a bachelor's degree in Construction Management, I’ve survived crazy math and physics classes and now prefer to keep the math in the context of everyday projects. I also spend a lot of time in the outdoors - hiking, biking, backpacking and climbing.

I recently worked as a Superintendent for one of the top 100 construction companies in the U.S. and have a strong background in commercial construction. I’ve been building and remodeling for over 20 years and I’ll be sharing my tips and tricks with you both here, and on our YouTube Channel. I find building new things to be rewarding and challenging. I hope you find my tutorials helpful!”

ABOUT SARAH …

Sarah - “My background is in Costume Design, Sewing & Pattern drafting - my claim to fame is the National Technical Costume award at KCACTF and MIYWW state winner. I have taught sewing classes, love painting, dancing and other ‘Art’. I also have over 10 years of math teaching experience and have a Master's of Arts in Mathematics. I am an artistic spirit that prefers exact fractions over decimals! :) But bringing math into my art and design is where I am truly happy.

I have worked as an independent costume designer, seamstress and artist since high school and designed products for MyRadDog, now available on Amazon from Nite Ize - including this water bowl. I won the national technical costume award at the Kennedy Center in 2007 and have been creating patterns, art, designing and making things for many years. Check out my work on Spoonflower.com, and on our website danandsarahmakers.com.”
